Representing all 3 sizes of Schnauzer. Our aims are to promote and encourage the best interests of the Schnauzer family in the North of England - although our current membership shows that we now have members throughout England, Scotland and Wales, and our overseas membership is also growing steadily.

The SCGB was founded in 1929. This site is dedicated to all 3 sizes of Schnauzer; Miniature, Standard and Giant and gives details of forthcoming events, a description of the breed, show results, a section on Agility and an extensive picture gallery and pets corner.

The Schnauzer Club has a main goal which is betterment of the breed, and asserts that its membership have an obligation to the Schnauzer (including Miniature, Standard and Giant) breed, to preserve the magnificence of the breed without exploiting it. The Club was established with those goals in mind and as we expand into each new area of involvement, the Club continues to strive towards those goals.

Our club was established in the spring of 2003 because of the rapidly increasing number of Giant Schnauzer owners in our five state area: Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arkansas. Our membership is not exclusive because we want to encourage everyone with an interest in the breed to join us. No matter where you live (we have members in Canada) or how many Giants you own (we have members who don’t even own a Giant) your interest in the breed is the only membership prerequisite.

The Giant Schnauzer Club currently hold three shows throughout the year; an Open show in February and August which helps B list judges to gain the experience they need to further their career in judging, and a Championship show in October.

Annual event Schnauzerfest is a conformation show, schutzhund trial and educational seminar.The Working Riesenschnauzer Federation was organized in 1991 by a group of people interested in the welfare and working ability of the breed commonly referred to as the Giant Schnauzer in the United States. - Read more
