Schipperke

This breed is really an allround dog. They have been used as ratters and to herd farm animals. Some had their home on the Belgian barges and it's said that they had a fondness for horses. Later on some royal ladies became fond of the smaller Schipperkes.

Today the Schipperke is primary a companion, and they enjoy both an active lifestyle and a more laidback approach, depending on the individual dog.

The Schipperke can live for over 20 years old, so it’s a commitment almost for life. An active breed that can suit an active owner, but will generally adapt to your lifestyle.
