The aim and objective of the society shall be to promote the breeding and exhibiting of the Lhasa Apso  and their general welfare  and to uphold the recognised standard of the Breed as laid down by the Kennel Club. To encourage novices and newcomers to the Breed.

It is an active Club, devoted to the advancement of the Lhasa Apso, with Directors in seven of the ten provinces. The Club was instrumental in proposing standard modifications with the result that an updated Canadian Kennel Club approved Standard went into effect January 1982. LHASA APSO CANADA has a yearly roving National Specialty.

Our Mission is to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Lhasa Apsos, and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.  In our pursuits of doing so, LACNC urges members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Lhasa Apso shall be judged.

Does all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the Breed by offering prizes, supporting certain shows and taking other steps that may be deemed advisable, including the running of Open and Championship shows, especially in the Midlands area.

The Lhasa Apso Club holds one Championship show in October each year, currently in Milton Keynes. It also hold two Open shows, in January and June.
