We've been running as a registered charity since 2000 but have been doing this since the early 90's and have no intention of giving it up..! Not just yet anyway!!

The rescue started about 40 years ago, on a very small scale. Since then it has grown steadily to cope with the increasing number of Danes being bred. Scottish Great Dane Rescue's aim is to find new, permanent and loving homes for Danes that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned in Scotland.

United Kingdom. Rehoming stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs. Few of our Danes are strays. Most are homeless through changes in the previous owners domestic circumstances and they make fine and loving family pets. All our dogs are kept in our care until we find them an appropriate home or they pass away. We only euthanase a dog when their quality of life is irreversibly compromised. - Read more
