Recognised both by its parent club, the Norwegian Elkhound Association of America and the American Kennel Club, GSNEC members come together several times throughout the year to celebrate our breed, affectionately referred to as Great Grays, in competition and comraderie.

All those who love this breed are welcome to this site and to our club. Please feel free to contact us or come to our club functions. We are in desperate need of  foster homes for rescue elkhounds.

NECGH members represent the full range of involvement with the Norwegian Elkhound. Members have exhibited nation wide and have completed many conformation championships and multiple levels of obedience degrees. A number of the dogs obtaining these titles have been bred by exhibitors. The club also includes active members who are not involved in competitive activities. The common bond of all the members of NECGH is a respect and love for the Norwegian Elkhound.

One of the best ways to find out more about the Norwegian Elkhound is to join the Norwegian Elkhound Club of GB and new Members are always welcome. Annual Membership includes a Journal/Year Book and Magazine.  A Championship Show is held in the Spring and an Open Show in the Autumn, both events usually take place in the Midlands.

The Norwegian Elkhound Association of America (NEAA) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to benefit the Norwegian Elkhound breed in the United States and Canada by aiding, informing and encouraging its members in the care, improvement and enjoyment of their dogs.
