Star of the North Chinese Shar-Pei Club became an AKC licensed club and a Chinese Shar-Pei of America affiliated club in 1997.  The club is based in Minnesota. However, Star of the North Chinese Shar-Pei Club members reside not only in Minnesota, but also in Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Nebraska and Maryland.
