The club membership is predominantly made up of purists and we place great value on breeding and showing dogs that are successful at Bull Terrier Club Specialities. On occasions a couple of our members show at All Breeds Shows, but the majority place more emphasis on winning under ROM Judges.

Early in 1947, a group of Bull Terrier enthusiasts met to form The Bull Terrier Club. Speciality shows, information about the Bull Terrier, Breeders.

You do not have to own a Bull Terrier to be a member of our club, you only have to have an interest in the breed. Even if you currently own a different breed of dog, your only requirment is to have an interest in the Bull Terrier or Bull Terrier (Miniature) to be a member of our club.

The Club has a small group of people dedicated to enhancing the profile of the breed in the area and protecting the breed itself. The Club holds one or two Championships shows each year as well as attending other events to promote the breed. The ACT Bull Terrier CLub Inc. is a member of the National Bull Terrier Council (Australia). Membership to the Club is open to anyone who has an interest in the breed. A newsletter is sent out every two months and the membership form can be found on this website.

The Bull Terrier Club of Victoria was founded by a dedicated group of individuals in 1975 with the objective to successfully educate people about Bull Terriers and promote healthy, happy Bull Terriers at all levels of ownership. The BTCV can help fellow members, first time Bully owners, or just an interested future Bully owner. The club has members who have come across and heard of nearly every problem/story associated with Bull Terriers. They are also helpful for prospective Bull Terrier buyers, don't go and buy a Bull Terrier without asking questions, make sure the puppy has papers as you may spend money on a cute looking puppy which doesn't grow up to look like it should (according to the standard).

The NBTCA was formed in 1987 by a group of Bull Terrier enthusiasts who saw the need for an organisation to unite the breed in Australia. This aim has certainly been achieved with eight member clubs and and associate member club from New Zealand. The NBTCA is governed by the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) and is the direct link between the clubs and the ANKC on matters pertaining to the breed.
