Berger De Picard
One of the oldest French sheep herding dogs, possible introduced by the Celts, the Picardy is closely related to the Beauceron and Briard. The breed has been, for many years, and still is a flock worker in the Pas-de-Calais region by the Somme in the North of France.
Although the breed became endangered during the first World Wars. It was officially recognized in 1925 and. By 1948, breeders had again established a fixed type.
